Launch of the European Energy Award in Romania

ENCO supported the Romanian eea in institutionalising the eea quality management system

In Romania, ENCO supported the Romanian implementation partner Romanian Green Building Council in establishing a national European Energy Award programme. This project was completed on behalf of the Energiestadt trustee association.

The project aimed to introduce the European Energy Award in Romania. It comprised all aspects of institutionalising the eea, from adapting its tools to training the advisors, coaching the national eea office staff and involving core stakeholders.

Given our long-standing experience as the executive office of the Energiestadt trustee association, ENCO also supported the Romanian partner organisation in cooperating and coordinating with regional and national authorities and in collaborating with municipalities to implement the eea process.

We also promoted the exchange of experiences and the building of capacity among Romanian local governments to develop sustainable energy policies by organising a study trip to Switzerland. Participants were able to view selected examples of the implementation of energy measures by Swiss Energiestadt municipalities to gain insights into successfully completed initiatives. They also had the opportunity for an exchange about energy and climate policy issues among each other and with Swiss experts.
