ENCO leads the SSMP consortium, contributing to sustainable development and strengthening the strategic capacity of Polish cities within the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme. Swiss expertise and partnerships help unlock local potential and build competencies.
Within the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme, ENCO Energy-Consulting AG leads the Swiss Support Measure Partner (SSMP) mandate as part of the “Support of Towns” (SoT) component of the “Development of Towns” (DoT) programme.
The mandate is implemented in close coordination with the Association of Polish Cities (APC) and under the strategic guidance of the Polish Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy, SECO, SDC, and the Swiss Embassy in Warsaw.
Together with Urbaplan S.A., ENCO supports 19 medium-sized Polish cities facing structural socio-economic challenges. The aim is to strengthen their strategic capacity and local development potential through targeted Swiss expertise, innovative tools, and partnerships with Swiss cities.
The thematic scope includes a multitude of areas, such as energy and climate policy, sustainable mobility, climate adaptation, as well as social and health-related topics. A particular focus lies on promoting resilient and sustainable urban development.
In close collaboration with national and international partners, Swiss experts are mobilised, city-to-city partnerships are fostered, and targeted study visits and exchange formats are organised. In this way, the project helps make proven Swiss know-how accessible for the sustainable and inclusive development of Polish cities.
